Why should I choose GigLink over going direct?

Can I really set my own rate?

Yes — completely. You post the hourly and daily rate you want to charge, and that's what clients see and agree to pay. GigLink deducts 10% from your side after payment. Nobody marks up your rate or hides costs from the client. What you set is what they pay.

What does the vetting process actually involve?

Three steps: credential verification against CPA Australia, CA ANZ, TPB, ICB and other Australian professional bodies; a manual review of your profile, experience history and specialisations by the GigLink team; and an assessment of your pitch video for quality and communication. The whole process typically takes a few business days.

What makes a good pitch video?

Be yourself — that's genuinely the whole thing. Introduce who you are, what you specialise in, and why a business should choose you over anyone else. Clear audio, decent lighting, and confident delivery goes a long way. You don't need a production crew. Businesses watch it to get a feel for you as a person, not to critique your camera work.

How quickly do I get paid after invoicing?

Once the business pays GigLink, your 90% is processed promptly — no sitting in a queue for 60 days like some agencies run. You submit your invoice through the platform, the business approves it, GigLink processes payment. Full visibility on invoice and payment status in your expert portal the whole way through.

What if I'm not accepted first time around?

Only 18% of applicants are approved — we're selective by design, and that selectivity is exactly what makes being on GigLink valuable. If your application isn't approved, we'll tell you specifically why and what would strengthen it. A lot of experts come back after improving their profile or pitch video and get approved on the second attempt.
